OptEEmAL presents its results at a final conference in Valladolid

05 february 2019

After more than three and a half years of work, the OptEEmAL project, for the rehabilitation of districts and buildings to make them more energy efficient, comes to an end and the partners, coordinated by CARTIF, want to present the technological challenges they have overcome and the achievements that the project has made possible. For this, they are organizing a final conference, opened to the public, which will take place on February 20, at the Science Museum of Valladolid.

In addition to presenting the main results, the objective of the day is to expose the design platform of the energy rehabilitation project through the district that the partners have developed. This platform provides a systematic, integrated and optimized design based on an 'integrated project delivery' approach (IPD, Integrated Project Delivery), reducing the time of development and the uncertainties related to the process.

The day will be inaugurated by the Councilor for Urban Planning, Infrastructure and Housing of the City Council of Valladolid, Manuel Saravia, and the CEO of CARTIF, José Ramón Perán, and will have the participation of representatives of the members of the consortium and experts in the field, who will present their experience and provide different points of view for the debate.

The day will end with a visit to the neighbourhood of Cuatro de Marzo, the Spanish demosite of the R2CITIES project, coordinated by CARTIF. This European project that has just finished has rehabilitated 13 buildings, in which a thermal insulation has been installed on the façade and roofs, replaced and folded the windows, placed solar panels to cover 60% of the demand for sanitary hot water, renovated the boilers and installed high efficiency luminaires in the common areas of buildings.
