CARTIF takes part in the first review meeting of SmartEnCity project

Last week on October 4th and 5th SmartEnCity Project held his first review meeting to check the achievements so far on the Project after 18 months of work. Al work packages and task leaders met in Sonderborg, one of the three lighthouse cities of the project to show the EC project Officer and technical advisor the advances on the demonstrations and the work done on the different aspects covered in SmartEnCity.

CARTIF, as WP7 leader, exposed the monitoring and evaluation activities carried out so far and the strategy followed in this WP for the evaluation of the impacts of the different interventions and the cities as a whole in terms of energy and CO2 savings, energy costs, air quality or social acceptance, among other aspects.

Apart from the meeting sessions it was also possible to see in a guided tour the advances achieved in Sonderborg city on the three main pillars of the project: district retrofitting, mobility and city integrated infrastructures.

This meetings and guided tout were part of a wider event, the100% Climate Neutrality Conference, a biannual event that this year focused on new developments and strategies.

The 6th October, the work continued within the periodic SCC Smart Cities & Communities Lighthouse and Follower cities meeting, that this semester is chaired by SmartEnCity coordinator Francisco Rodriguez from Tecnalia. In this event, the lighthouse projects REMOURBAN and MySmartLife coordinated by CARTIF were also represented by their coordinators Miguel Ángel García Fuentes and Rubén García Pajares respectively, who participated on the different round tables and sessions.
