Campus 21 project meeting in Valladolid

The Sports Centre Huerta del Rey serves as a demonstrator of this project about energy efficiency

campus21The project, part of the Seventh Framework Programme of the European Commission has a budget of close to 3'9 million with a consortium of seven partners, including the city of Valladolid and CARTIF.

The initiative, which has the expertise of partners like the German research centers in the field of telecommunications, artificial intelligence in Ireland or the Department of Physics, University of Vienna, focuses on the development, implementation and testing of a hardware-software platform for the integration of ICT subsystems to support energy management of buildings and security systems.

In the case of Valladolid site is planned to evaluate the different consumption data to study potential methods to improve energy efficiency and apply it to reduce consumption. Cartif will this part of the project. The Energy Division is working on the specification of information modeling and integrated BMS in the selection of protocols, and collaborate on actions to disseminate the project, developing the right tools for establishing a community of scientific interest about energy efficiency .

The three areas that have been selected to perform validation tasks are the campus of University College Cork (Ireland), a multipurpose arena and sports in Germany and the  Sports Centre in Valladolid. These spaces serve demonstrators to scale and expand the scope of the project to campus or complex of buildings.

This project is part of theValladolid and Palencia Smart City initiative.
