DH Compliant Project developes a universal standar to integrate services robots in Digital Home environment
The key objective of the Home Automation for the coming years is to ensure that homes are places more versatile, able to meet family needs, work and leisure. This works with all types of robotic wits (service robots) but one of the main obstacles to its final implementation is that robots are not able to interact with home automation components. That is the challenge of the project DH Compliant, through which we will develop a language that enables the integration of robotics and home automation.
Once ready, this open standard will allow manufacturers of robots to market products that can integrate into the digital home systems in a fast and effective. In addition to service applications, for example, a robot lawn mower to do its work only in good weather, this new language opens an interesting field of possibilities in telecare, as it will allow administrators to create robots capable of providing medicines or basic services elderly or sick.
