Cartif and Salamanca City Hall will develop a LIFE project pioneer in Europe
Thursday, 04 February 2010
RESCATAME Life Project kic-off meeting was celebrated yesterday
The implementation of this project relate real-time traffic conditions in conflict zones and monumental pollution in areas with a network of some 40 to 60 spots (compact stations measuring pollutants) to be installed on lampposts and street furniture located in the area demarcated for the management of air quality.
This system will allow the City of Salamanca take actions to prevent pollution situations in certain parts of the city in real time, while preserving its artistic heritage and providing better air quality for its citizens.
This technology has been developed in the UK but will be through this research project when it is perfected and put into practice for the first time in Spain and Europe. Participate in its development teams and Environment and TICS Divisions of Cartif , given the complexity of the measurement systems and wireless communications to be set up.
