The goal of this project is the development of document management software that makes possible to accurately handle all the documents about regulations (regulative and legislative documents, technical manuals, plans, etc.) of a company from the power sector, so as to be able to generate concept maps of said documents, detect and remove possible inconsistencies on one or several documents, as well as facilitate search tasks according to criteria defined by the end-user.

The new system allows:

• A unique formulation for the generation of said documents, by creating for similar ends, as far as regulations are concerned, a single kind/class/category of document.
• Standardisation of formats, with regard to jurisprudence or terminology.
• Adequate classification of the documents, based on criteria or search terms.
• Quick search of documents that is linked to or about a particular subject, contains a certain terminology, or includes a reference to regulations or jurisprudence.
• Concept maps of the documentation belonging to Iberdrola.
• Characterisation of the documents based on contents, structure, etc. Categorisation of documents, detection of resemblances and correlations between documents, and definition of document classes.
• Detection and removal, according to certain criteria, of incoherences between related documents.
• Implementation of a tool for intelligent search that enables the use of previous results and knowledge, and an easy access to the documents based on content, keywords, categories search criteria, among others.
• Automatic incorporation to the system, when possible, of the newly generated documents.
• Generation of suggestions for the development of new documents, thus avoiding incoherences within the documentation.

We also note as concrete objectives the following:

• From the state of the art in the field of text and documents mining, study and check the feasibility of the various approaches to real case or cases presented by Iberdrola.
• Using the previous criteria, describe each document taking into account diverse characteristics, which would have been previously selected. Then, through a clustering process, gather those documents in groups or classes, studying the correlations between them, and their level of similarity according to different criteria or characteristics, creating concept maps of the company’s documentation.
• Empleando la descripción obtenida de los documentos y las categorías encontradas, o bien consideradas a priori, se podrá depurar la información existente sobre esta documentación. Se comprobará que las características, contenidos o requisitos indicados en un documento normativo no entren en contradicción con los requisitos indicados en el resto de documentos relacionados.
• Development of a software tool that creates an intelligent search engine able to handle the maps previously generated, and that makes possible to manage the documentation by contents and concepts.
