This environmental profile will make possible to bring in environmental criteria to the process of design and development of roads, to choose the most sustainable alternatives. Therefore, is necessary to gather environmental data about the different steps of the Life-Cycle of a road (extraction and processing of raw materials, transport of raw materials, construction, maintenance, and end-of-life), so this database allows the creation of a Life-Cycle Inventory and, consequently, making knowledge-based decisions within the scope of sustainable construction and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
