From the European viewpoint, there has been a boost of preventive environmental policy instead of counteraction, and of voluntary participation rather than forced observance. Sustainable Management within a company doesn’t have to be thought as an expense, but as an investment that allows introducing improvements to productive processes and increasing efficiency.
Therefore, in Cartif we help organizations by the execution of different sorts of studies and/or counselling aimed at accomplishing sustainability, using tools like Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Ecodesign, and Environmental Risk Assessment.

A project with the purpose of integrating new technologies which make more sustainable (mostly from the energetic perspective) the manufacturing, transport, control, and set up processes of asphalt mixing. The Management area is carrying out the evaluation of the environmental behaviour of new asphalt mixes, comparing them with traditional asphalt mixes. The results of this evaluation will serve as starting point for the application of Ecodesign methodologies.
Aimed at helping the involved companies to identify the critical environmental load linked to the Life Cycle of their products/services, and to develop improvement actions to reduce the impact on health and the environment.
Creation of an environmental and technical knowledge framework to develop software for evaluation and sustainable design of roads. This software would be intended for the development of a computer application that allows the use of a global strategic tool, such as the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), in order to obtain an environmental profile of roads with bitumen/asphalt mixes and compare it to that of concrete floors.
