Since 1999, Cartif has had an office for the transfer of research results (in Spanish, OTRI), whose aim is to provide a service specialised in channelling the technological demands of enterprise and transferring the main innovative know-how to the production sector in order to support and favour socio-economic development and the enterprise modernisation process.OTRI's mission in Cartif is to promote the generation of know-how in accordance with the needs of the environment and enable its transfer.
This mission comprises the following objectives:
- To act as support for enterprise, especially SMEs, by transferring innovative know-how, acting as R&D units under contract and collaborating on the creation and operation of the corresponding R&D units in industry.
- To identify the transferable results generated by the Cartif research groups, enabling the transfer of the said results to enterprise, together with their correct simulation.
- To collaborate on and take part in the negotiation of research contracts, technical assistance, consultancy services and patent licences between its research groups and enterprise.
- To improve communication between Cartif and the rest of society.
- To encourage the use of tools for the protection of industrial property and the creation of new innovative and technologically-based companies.
Our Strategic Plan 2008-2012 places special emphasis on technology transfer and aims to promote an improvement in the mechanisms currently existing in Cartif, through a significant strengthening of the OTRI function.
