Usefulness of Laser Optical Measurement of Large Buildings

robotThe measurement of objects using laser technology offers much greater precision than other contactless technologies. Referring to historical and artistic heritage can be used both in the inspection of exterior walls or inside buildings, as in the documentation and duplication of parts thereof (figures, retablos, moldings, etc.). Thus, it is easier and drastically improve the work of documentation (CAD drawings), dissemination, monitoring and support damage restoration.

Laser technology can also be used in the measurement and simulation of civil works for the planning and monitoring, including monitoring the implementation of the same generation and comparison with CAD drawings, verification of earthworks, contour extraction, measurement areas, volumes, distances, heights, etc.

General principles

laservueloThe laser optical measurement of large areas is based on computing the time it takes for a laser pulse to travel the road back and forth between the scanner and the object to study (flight time).

The accuracies achievable by this route are: s = 6mm (Hz x V) s = 4mm (D) to 50m distance to the object. The maximum resolution (level of detail) can be achieved is 1.2 mm at 100m.
