Transport

The experience Cartif has in the transportation sector covers very diverse means of transport. From the development of riverboats and intelligent systems for railway maintenance (applicable to trains and subways), to tests of materials used on plane manufacturing, and of course, the different services for the automotive industry.

However, we don’t only design the machines or their maintenance systems, but we expand the scope of transportation to include road analysis, collaborating with the Spanish Road Association in the preparation of the Study on vulnerability of infrastructures to natural disasters. We also work on the environmental impact of road transport by studying the use of asphalt formulations that give the road surface photocatalytic properties for the disposal of pollutants produced by the vehicles.

Additionally, we work on the manufacturing processes of biofuels from wastes and energy crops.

Finally, the Mobile Robotics area is trying to achieve transportation systems characterised by a high manoeuvrability and flexibility.
