COLRECEPS project rewards Agustinas School of Valladolid

17 june 2016

Children from Agustinas School of Valladolid attend the performance ‘Recycling stories’, of the Theatre group Kamaru Theatre, in the  context of LIFE COLRECEPS project, as a reward for their participation in the children’s event held last April 24.

The objective of both events was to teach children the importance of recycling and to give a second life of certain wastes that usually end up in dumpsters. In this case, the project works with expanded polystyrene (EPS), commonly known as white cork, used in the packaging of all kinds of products and the construction sector.

COLRECEPS project, led by CARTIF, proposes a solution to the environmental problem of the accumulation of large amounts of non-biodegradable waste in landfills, with the creation of a plant, which produces recycled EPS pearls. This solution allows to reduce more than 50% of the volume of this waste and to supply an added value.
